2 months

My baby is 8 weeks old today! I can't believe how fast time goes by. Collin had his 2 month check-up yesterday and I am happy to say he is a very healthy baby! He weighs 11 pounds 9 ounces. I love fat babies. I am probably over-feeding him but I can't resist the double chin and chunky thighs. He had his shots and screamed bloody murder but only for a second. Poor little guy! He was a little more tired than normal but thankfully he was still a happy baby.

Where's Waldo???

Monkey Business

Collin loves sock monkeys! Well, I'm actually the one that loves them but he will learn that every kid needs their own sock monkey, or two! Don't you agree?

For whatever reason I can not turn this picture the right way, so just tilt your head!

Yaya and Papa got Collin the Original Sock Monkey for Easter

Happy Easter

We had a great Easter Sunday brunch at our house with my family and Cameron's family, about 20 of us. Maddison and Hunter had a ton of eggs to find and it was so much fun to watch them run around and hunt for them.

Getting Big!

Collin is getting so big! He is already 3 weeks old and he weighs 8 lbs 8 oz. The doctor was so pleased with the 15 ounces he gained in 5 days! He changes so much every day! I love watching him grow.

8 days old

3 weeks old - his chubby cheeks are my favorite! Collin loves this adorable comfy outfit from Astor and Gino.

As you can see by his coloring the jaundice is all gone... Yeah! One funny thing is babies don't have eyebrows. Collin has had his fingernails cut 4 times but his toenails haven't grown yet, weird huh!

Collin Jeffrey Nelson is here!

This has been the best week of my life! On Tuesday the 24th Cameron and I headed to the doctor for what we thought would be just a quick check up. After a non stress test the doctor didn't like that the baby wasn't having big jumps on the monitor so he said, "O.K. lets go have a baby." And he meant like right now, which meant I had to cancel my hair appointment and Cameron would not be going to work. We headed home to get our bags and the car seat. We got to the hospital at 11:30 am and got checked in. The doctor broke my water at noon and started me on pitocin at 2:00 pm. I was dilated to a 2. After a few hours things were not progressing and I thought I was going to have to have a c-section (which I was not looking forward to.) I was getting uncomfortable but not in pain which was great! I got the epidural at 5:30. The nurse checked me again around 7:3o and I was still only a 2! At 9:00 she checked one more time and I was dilated to a 9! She couldn't believe it. She called in the doctor and I was ready to push. After 38 minutes of pushing we had our beautiful baby boy. The cord was around his neck which explained why he wasn't very active during the non stress test. The doctor unwrapped the cord and sucked his nose and mouth and I have never been so happy to hear that little cry! It was such an amazing experience. Everyone told me I would change my mind about having 4 kids once I went through labor and I am happy to say, they were all wrong.

20.3 inches long
He has long toes just like Daddy and his Mommy's hair!

Insomnia

I would like to thank my Grandma Woods for passing down the insomnia gene my way! I am due to have this baby in 5 days and I was hoping to actually sleep before he got here. No such luck. I'm sure it is all in preparation for those middle of the night feedings but seriously, enough is enough! Is more than 4 hours of sleep a night too much to ask?!?

Thanks Bofa!

Everyone needs a cousin Bofa. Of course her real name is Amie but nobody in our family actually goes by their real name. Not only can she sing but she is an artist too! Bofa spent all day here working her magic by painting the nursery for us. Here are a few pictures...

Once we have a name for this little guy, it will be painted on the wood sign the monkey is holding. She will be coming back to add an elephant and frog and do some touch-ups.

Thanks Bofa! We love you.

He's the best!

I always laugh at these women who have the kind of blog where life is perfect and their kids are perfect and their husbands are perfect and blah blah blah!

BUT... I'm going to take a minute to say what an AMAZING husband I have! I had to work today and Cameron had the day off, which I must admit made me jealous. Knowing I had to wake up and go to work and he could be lazy all day! Well, that was not the case. When I got home he greeted me in the garage with a smirk on his face and I wondered what was so funny. As he walked me inside he showed me all he had accomplished today. He did dishes, steamed the counter tops and kitchen floor (Steph, the steamer works on the counter tops too) did all the laundry, even put away my clothes. For those of you that know me, everything in my closet has to be hung in the same direction and categorized by color and type... I know I'm a little anal! And he got all of this right! I'm not done yet... He dusted, cleaned out our junk drawers, organized the garage and laundry room. Seriously, I am so blessed to be married to a man who is so capable! Ladies, ladies... just admit it, your jealous! And did I mention he has the most beautiful blue eyes ever?!?

It's a start

Cameron worked very hard this weekend to put together the crib and get the nursery started. We still need to get the jungle theme painted on the walls, hang the window treatment, wash all the bedding, choose a rocker and ottoman.... well, there's a lot more to do but it's a start! Thankfully Cameron knows how to assemble things because this is one complicated crib!

The good news is the dresser and night stand were already assembled.

I think he's pretty cute!

Cameron and I were so excited for the 4D ultrasound. Thankfully our little guy cooperated and we got to take a peek at him! I think he's pretty cute!

He weighs 2 lbs 10 oz. I am 29 weeks... 11 more to go, but whose counting!

I know someone else who is very excited for this baby to arrive, my niece Maddi.

While keeping her overnight a few weeks ago we were laying on the couch before bedtime and the conversation went like this:

Maddi: while shaking my belly - "Wake him up, I want to meet him."

Me: "He can't come out yet, he's still growing. But he can hear you, you can talk to him."

Maddi: looking at my belly "But I want to see him. He's gonna be my best friend! Come out baby boy cousin!"

I put her to bed and first thing the next morning...

Maddi: "Is my baby boy cousin here yet?"

This girl cracks me up. She is so smart and doesn't miss a thing!!

First Post...

I'm sure I'll be addicted in no time... Everyone keeps telling me "Now that your going to be a mom, you need to start a blog." Almost like it is necessary.

I have been a blog stocker for quite some time (mostly mormon blogs) because they are hilarious and a few are truely heart warming. As soon as I get a hang of this blogging thing I will post their links so you can be a blog stalker too!
